About ACHEV

 

Thank you for your interest in the Association of Christian Home Educators of Ventura County. ACHEV was begun in 1981 for the purpose of supporting parents and children in their home schooling endeavors. Our growing membership consists of families from Ojai to Westlake Village, with most of our families living in the Ventura, Camarillo and Oxnard areas.

 

ACHEV families teach their children at home, occasionally coming together for shared classes. ACHEV sponsors regular monthly and annual events for its members including park days, spelling bees, science fairs, standardized testing and school pictures as well as numerous field trips.

 

Membership in ACHEV is based upon receipt of a signed membership application and payment of the annual membership fee. The benefits of membership include access to our calendar of events, and our newsletter and other information regarding ACHEV, the opportunity to participate in ACHEV’s organized activities, a membership roster, and input into the organization,

 

ACHEV is a non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors with officers overseeing daily operations. Volunteers sustain the organization, from organizing one-time events to serving as president.
